A Pre-Loss Consultation is the best way to expedite the recovery process after a disaster. A Pre-Loss Consultation will document the current condition of your Property so that we can provide the Insurance Company definitive proof that your property was in the condition you said it was in prior the loss. Having to write an estimate for rebuilding a home from Facebook Photos and memories is a daunting task. But if we are armed with a complete estimate, measurements, photos and property description before disaster strikes, we can work much faster to restore your life.
As a Public Adjuster, we can represent and assist you on every step of the claim process. We will measure, documents and present your claim to the Insurance Company. We also gather evidence needed to prove your claim. If needed, we will guide you through escalating your claim and disputing it further as we work with a great network of Contractors, Appraisers and Attorneys.
If you are already having a dispute with your Carrier and would like to invoke the Appraisal Clause or the Carrier has invoked the Appraisal Clause, we can act as your Appraiser. As your Appraiser, we will work to reach a fair settlement as quickly as possible.
We aid Attorneys by proving and quantifying losses for their clients. Our experience and expertise in determining both the cause of loss and the amount required to rehabilitate a property is relied upon by Attorneys to help their clients get the settlements they deserve.
What is a Public Adjuster?
A Public Adjuster is someone that is licensed by the State to negotiate and adjust claims on behalf of the Policy Holders. We are experts at adjusting losses and the claims settlement process. We work for the Policy Holder. A Public Adjuster assists you, the insured, with preparing, filing, managing and negotiating your insurance claim.
Do I need help with my claim?
Insurance Claims require a written, itemized statement of the loss. Then, your insurance policy is applied to that list.
DID YOU KNOW? While some people just assume that the Insurance Company Adjuster will help them out, they don’t know Insurance Company Adjusters MUST keep the interests of the Insurance Company first.
Do I have to accept the claim amount offered by my Insurance Company?
NO. You have the right to dispute your claim and pursue what is owed. Remember, the Insurance Company is not in charge of your claim and must settle the claim fairly or face consequences.
Can’t my Insurance Agent help me with my claim?
Your Agent is trained in determining your insurance coverage needs – not adjusting and negotiating insurance claims. Your Agent can be helpful in getting you a copy of your Policy and explaining the Policy to you.
It is possible your Agent’s hands are “tied” because they are employed, either directly or indirectly, by the Insurance Company.
DID YOU KNOW? Insurance Agencies are often graded on their “Loss Ratio”. And, as an incentive to write less risky policies, they are rewarded for having fewer paid claims.
I have been denied or received a partial payment. Can I reopen my claim?
The answer is: Maybe. But, it’s definitely worth investigating!
Different states have different time limits. Your policy should clearly state how long you have. If you are unsure, contact us for a free claim review.
How is a Public Adjuster compensated?
A Public Adjuster’s compensation is a small amount of your insurance claim payment that is made to you. In Louisiana, we charge an hourly rate ($150/HR), but cap it depending on the claim. You don’t have to chose between paying us and paying your chosen Contractor.
WE DO NOT BILL UNLESS WE RECOVER MORE MONEY THAN YOU’VE ALREADY RECEIVED.
Document who you spoke to, what time/date, what you spoke about, and anything else about the contact (mood and attitude of the person you spoke with, explanations offered and if you felt pressured to do or accept something).
Often, the employee relaying information to you will be misinformed. And, while they honestly believe what they’re saying, it is simply not true. If you are told something is not covered, or that your insurance will not pay for it, always ask why.
Review it thoroughly. Ask your Agent to explain what coverages you have and what limitations are in your policy.
Keep copies of all estimates, receipts and invoices. Do not give away originals without keeping a copy on hand for your files.
Your photos can be very helpful if your Adjuster misses something and it is repaired before they see it. Providing Pre-Loss photographs and documentation along with your photos of damage is extremely helpful to document your loss.
